Learning at Home

Here are some of the activities that are posted on Seesaw:

1.  Draw and Write:
Draw a picture of your house.
Then write a story about the people that live in your house.
You could start your story like this:
"In my house is.."
Don't forget you can use the words in the flowers, and the words at the bottom of the flowers.  Ask Mum or Dad to help you.

2.  Build a Hut:
Pick a spot in your house where you can build a hut.
Use items from your home to build your hut.
You can read, draw, play games, or just hang out in your hut!
Take a photo of your hut with you inside reading your favourite book.
You could also draw a picture of your hut.

3.  Helping Around the House:
Taking care of yourself is important.
This week see if you can:
- make your bed
- hang your clothes on the line, and then fold them neatly when they are dry
- wash or dry the dishes, or put them away.
Take a photo of your mahi to share with me.

4.  Make a Leaf Rainbow:
See if you can make a leaf rainbow with all the beautiful leaves that are falling off the trees.
Don't forget to take a photo to share with me!

Monday 20 April

KiaOra Koutou
Here is today's mahi.  I have enjoyed seeing all your work and hearing your voices!

Letter Sounds
Hear it, then say it!
Practice the letter sounds of the alphabet. You can find the sounds here on the blog: https://welearnthroughplayhes.blogspot.com/p/writing.html
Practice finding the beginning sounds of things you can see around you - b-b-bed, t-t-table. Make a collection of some things and record yourself saying the beginning sounds.

Floating and Sinking
Find some different things to put in water.
You might have a tennis ball, a marble, a pencil, a toy car, a shell a leaf... you can choose your things.
Now let's see which one floats and which ones sink!
Tell me about what you discover about what floats and sinks.
You can take a photo and post onto Seesaw, or you can record your ideas.

Winter is Coming

We have been exploring ideas about the coming of winter, leaves falling off trees, and how this happens. Our poem this week was about winter...
